Police release photo of shooting suspect

Police have released a photo of a suspect wanted in a shooting last month near the Webster Station bar.

Police said last month they believed that two shootings on April 28 could be related. Police received a call of shots fired at East Third Street and Kenton Street next to Webster Station, and when crews arrived, they found one male had been shot in front of the business, and a second shooting victim later showed up at the hospital.

The victims, according to a police report obtained Saturday, are 23 and 26 years old. Both were taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

The man in the photo is believed to be an accomplice in the Webster Street shooting, and police said he assisted the shooter by holding the victim while he was shot.

Police said last month they believed the incident stemmed from an argument inside the bar that moved outside.

Middletown police shut down meth lab

Authorities shut down a suspected methamphetamine lab late Tuesday and arrested two men in connection with its operation.

Around 11 p.m., Middletown police responded to 1644 Lamberton Street, Apt. C, after the apartment manager reported people trespassing inside. Police had to force entry into the apartment after the suspects — identified as Cody R. Tester, 22, and Brad Patton both of Middletown would not open the door.

According to police, Tester was reportedly actively injecting a substance into his left forearm and heavy smoke with a chemical odor was coming from the bathroom

.Chemicals and other items used to manufacture methamphetamine were allegedly recovered from the bathroom by members of Middletown’s Special Operations Detectives and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, according to police.

Tester is charged with trespassing and possession of drug abuse instruments. Patton is charged with trespassing.

Police said the investigation continues and additional charges are pending.

In April 2011, Tester was charged with charged with illegal assembly of chemicals after materials used to manufacture meth were recovered from a home in the 700 block of Crawford Street, according to police records.

Kids say man exposed himself in alley

Police on Tuesday received a call around 9 p.m. that a man had exposed himself to kids in an alley behind a residence on Cambridge Avenue.

At the same time, there was a call holding that a man had chased a girl with a knife on the 200 block of Yale Avenue, according to a police report obtained Wednesday.

A female told officers she was on Cambridge at a cousin's house. Her kids, who are 6-, 4- and 5-years old, were playing behind the house and were approached by a man. According to the report, he was described as a heavy black man wearing jogging shorts.

The kids said the man exposed himself and that he had a knife. According to the report, the kids stated the knife had blood on it.

Later, police were told that a 4-year-old was playing with the kids on Cambridge and she saw a tall, black, heavyset man in an alley. The report, again, was that he was exposing himself and had a bloody knife.

It is noted in the report that it's author "didn't talk to any of the kids while they were together and all had the same description."

Police checked the area but were unable to find the man.
